Privacy
The short version: this website doesn't track you. It sets no cookies of its own, runs no analytics, shows no ads and loads nothing from anywhere else. You can read every page of it without telling us anything, because there is nothing on it to tell us with.
What this website collects#
Nothing. There are no forms, no accounts, no newsletter sign-up and no comment box. The site sets no cookies and keeps nothing in your browser's storage, and it has no tracking pixels, no "like" buttons and no embedded videos from somewhere else.
Every page, picture and stylesheet comes from this one domain — no third-party fonts, scripts or embeds. That is checked every time the site is built: a page that would make your browser fetch something from another site fails to build at all.
What the host sees#
The site is hosted on Cloudflare Pages. Like any web host, Cloudflare receives the details every browser sends with a request — your IP address, the address of the page you asked for, and your browser's user-agent string — and uses them to deliver the page and to protect the site from attacks. Cloudflare handles that under its own privacy policy.
If Cloudflare's protection ever needs to check that a visitor isn't a bot, it can set a short-lived security cookie of its own. That cookie is Cloudflare's, it is there for security, and it is described in Cloudflare's cookie policy.
We don't keep visitor logs, and we haven't switched on Cloudflare's Web Analytics. What Cloudflare's dashboard shows us is aggregate — roughly how much traffic the site served — plus the details of any requests its security features blocked.
Links to other sites#
A few pages link elsewhere: to kama's website, to the libraries that made the game's textures, and to Cloudflare's policies above. Following one of those links takes you to that site, under its own privacy policy.
The game, and your microphone#
The Mallow Man is a game you play out loud. The campers talk to each other over proximity voice chat, and a round is won by singing the campfire song into your microphone. So the game will use your microphone.
The game isn't out yet, and this page is about the website. Before the game is released, a full privacy policy for it will be published here: what the microphone captures, where your voice goes, and what, if anything, is kept.
The game is also being designed so that you can play — and win — without a microphone at all.
If this page changes#
This page describes the website as it is actually built. If the site ever needs something this page says it doesn't do, the page changes first.
